1877 J.J. Freeman opens his store in downtown Toledo.

1929 Longtime business associate, W.F. Broer,
buys out J.J. Freeman.

1948 W.F.’s son, Carleton Broer, Sr., assumes management.

1975 Carleton Broer, Jr. carries on the family’s business and celebrates the store’s 100th anniversary downtown.

1982 Broer-Freeman moves from its downtown location to the quaint Ottawa Hills shopping center.

1984 Former Bailey, Banks and Biddle manager, David
Cameron, joins the Broer-Freeman family as vice president.

1995 After 10 years of service, David Cameron purchases Broer-Freeman and continues providing the quality, service and dedication customer have long come to expect.
